The Berkshires is known throughout the world as a unique cultural destination. We are the Summer home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, which returns to Tanglewood each June and stays through the month of September. There are so many museums spread out over the County, but one of the most unique is MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. It is one of the largest contemporary art museums in the country. It can hold some extremely large and interesting exhibits, due to the fact that it is in an old converted manufacturing mill. Our performing arts sector has only grown in recent years, which has made the range in entertainment possiblilites huge. Sit back and enjoy a dance show at Jacob’s Pillow set on an old farm in Becket, MA. Or, you can take in a play at Shakespeare & Company or Barrington Stage Company. The best part of enjoying all the cultural activities that the Berkshires has to offer is the fact that so many of the museums and theatres are set within such beautiful and unique places.
Most of Berkshire County is very rural, but you will not be disappointed with the quality of shops and restaurants located here.
